- Mick Ferguson (Birmingham City) – After an initial one-month loan spell, Everton agreed to extend Mick Ferguson spell at Birmingham City to the end of the season with a view to make the move permanent. The move was eventually made permanent however, there are no known reports of when exactly it became permanent. Since the season typically ends on 30th June, the date for this transfer has been set as 30th June 1983.
